Panjab school education Board

The Punjab School Education Board, abbreviated as PSEB, was established in November 1969 to oversee and promote school education in the state of Punjab. It is a legislative body that handles the administration and conduct of board exams for Classes 10 and 12. The board also operates an open school system, offering an opportunity for students to reappear for exams. 

Key Functions of PSEB:

  • Board Examinations:Conducts and manages the Class 10 and 12 board exams in Punjab. 
  • Open School System:Provides an alternative pathway for students who may have failed or need to retake their board exams. 
  • Curriculum and Syllabus:Prescribes the syllabus and exam pattern for Class 12. 
  • Education Development:Works to promote and develop school education in the state. 
  • Autonomy:Granted autonomy by the Vidhan Sabha in 1987.
